Here I have created a list of recommended resources of the products, companies, and services that I use to help me blog and hopefully will be able to help you start and maintain a blog. Blogging is fun and starting a blog can be overwhelming if you have never ever blogged before. So I hope this list of resources will help you learn how I blog and how you too can start a blog.

GET A DOMAIN NAME: The first thing you are going to want to do is pick out a domain name that will fit with what your brand will be about and what you plan to blog about. You need to have a catchy simple domain name. There are free brainstorming sites to help you pick a domain name such as and Once you have your name you need to see if it's available and register it with Go-Daddy. I love Go-Daddy and I use them for picking out all my domain names.

Register Your Domains Hassle-Free

GET HOSTING- The next step is get hosting once you pick out a Domain name. Hosting is where your site will live and continue to get service throughout the life of your blog. Think of it as the home of your blog and where it will reside. There are many different companies out there that provide website hosting and the two I recommend are Hostgator and Bluehost. They are both owned by the same parent company so many of the services and support are the same. 😉

INSTALL WORDPRESS: Then you need to activate your WordPress from inside our hosting panel and set-up Self-hosted WordPress. If you do not know how to do that here is a quick video telling you how to set up your WordPress site from inside Cpanel with Blue-host and Hostgator.

GET A THEME: FinallTy you need to pick out and purchase a theme. There are many free themes out there like Weebly however if you really to have a nice blog and one that comes with customer support. Then I recommend that you get a paid WordPress theme. I love to use Pidping themes sucH as the one I have now. Studiopress themes or great and I highly recommend Restored 316 Themes. All of these sites I have bought and used paid themes from and I highly recommend all three companies.

Once all that is complete you will want to spruce up your posts and add some finishing touches and use some tools to run your blog more effectively. I use a variety of tools from email tools, graphic tools, and even content marketing plugins. It will be up to you to decide what will be the best ones for you to use on your own blog.

Picmonkey: Is the main photo editing software tool that I use because it is easy to use and very user-friendly. The minute you start using it you will be able to start making your own blog graphics. Picmonkey has a free program and a paid one, I prefer the paid one since it offers more features and one low payment yearly. Very affordable I might add.

Aweber: Aweber is a great tool to start collecting email subscribers so that your readers can keep up with up your updated blog posts. They have a variety of plans and is one email subscription service I love to use. Aweber has great ease of use and customer support.

Sucuri:  Sucuri is a web firewall/monitoring service that will protect your site from hackers and remove any sort of malware or unwanted hack attempts to your site. I use them on three of my sites and they work just as great on all three for one low yearly fee. Click here to check them out!
