Natural life Gift Guide – My Top Picks (Movie Edition)

We can see now that everyone everywhere is pushing now to get out and snag themselves up on some nice treats to give away this year. And with all the commotion that comes with the holiday season we can see how sometime things can get a little stressful. However not all celebrate, but still would like to give things away throughout the whole year.Than you might want to take a look at my top picks in our natural life gift guide.

Filled with tons of cool stuff, I scoured the web to find you some of the greatest, coolest, earthy, (chick-est) if that is even a word Products. That you could give away as gifts throughout the whole year.

As Far a movies are concerned there are two that I really enjoyed this year, It is hard for me to recommend movies unless they are ones that really moved me and have touched me . The first one is Eat Pray Love with Julia Robers and the second is Fast Food Nation.

I had the chance to finally see Eat Pray Love the movie this week, and I have to say it is truly a very awe inspiring story. One that is to be seen time and time again. Julia plays her part perfectly and gives a fabulous performance coming from one that is huge fan of her work dating all the way back to mystic pizza. One of her first movies.

Anyhow whether its Eat Pray Love the book or the movie, this is sure to be a great chick flick gift. When I had the chance to watch it I was a little skeptical a first. Because When I saw the promotion for it on Oprah and how she went to India and other places to explore her spirituality, I did not want to watch it because honestly I’m not into praying to little statues.

Buts that’s just my opinion.

So when I finally sat down and watched the preview again it peaked my interest again, and I decided to buy it and watch it, and boy am I glad I did. Eat pray love is full of love, warmth, and friendship and everything that humanity is about. If you are one that is looking for a little inspiration or know someone who is stuck in a rut and needs some pick me up, than eat pray love the movie is one you should buy. This is surely now to be a all time movie classic in my home reminding you to live life, stay in the present and enjoy the blessings that are bestowed upon you.  All I can say is you will have to see the movie to truly appreciate what I am talking about.

The second one is Food Inc. based on Book I read years ago called Fast food nation which brings to light out of the darkness the shocking truth about about the food industry. If you are on the bench and just now starting out learning how to change your eating habits for your family and make them better. Than this is sure to get the fire inside you boiling up and having you really thinking about what you are putting into your mouth.

In Food, Inc., filmmaker Robert Kenner lifts the veil on our nation’s food industry, exposing the highly mechanized underbelly that’s been hidden from the American consumer with the consent of our government’s regulatory agencies, USDA and FDA. Our nation’s food supply is now controlled by a handful of corporations that often put profit ahead of consumer health, the livelihood of the American farmer, the safety of workers and our own environment. We have bigger-breasted chickens, the perfect pork chop, herbicide-resistant soybean seeds, even tomatoes that won’t go bad, but we also have new strains of e coli–the harmful bacteria that causes illness for an estimated 73,000 Americans annually. We are riddled with widespread obesity, particularly among children, and an epidemic level of diabetes among adults Food, Inc. reveals surprising — and often shocking truths — about what we eat, how it’s produced, who we have become as a nation as a result of it.

I Plan on in the near future touching on more of the food industry topic and why should take more of a look into what you are eating and why eating a more natural, local farm based could be a better alternative for your health. Until than you might want to look at this post on how food can impact your mood.

Well these are my top picks for 2010, I don’t watch many movies but when I Do I like to make sure they are meaningful.

Once you watch them let me know what you think about them:)

P.S. Stay tuned for Part Two of the gift guide Beauty Edition!
